Privacy Policy

VesselOne is operated and maintained by MCY Limited, a New Zealand company. This policy explains what we collect, why, and what you can ask us to do about it.

What we collect

If you join the waitlist we store your email address, and any optional answers you give to the follow-up questions. If you use the product we store the account and operational data you enter — customers, vessels, jobs, estimates, invoices, time entries and files. We also collect standard technical data such as IP address, browser type and page views.

Why we collect it

To contact you about early access, to provide and support the product, to bill you, and to understand which parts of the site and product are used. We do not sell personal information, and we do not share it with third parties for their own marketing.

Who we share it with

Only the suppliers that run the service on our behalf: Supabase (database and file storage), Vercel (hosting and analytics), SendGrid (email) and Twilio (SMS). Each is bound to use the data only to provide their service to us. Where you connect Xero, data you choose to sync is sent to Xero under your own agreement with them.

Where it is stored

Our database and file storage are hosted in the Asia-Pacific region. Some suppliers process data in other countries; we require comparable safeguards from all of them.

How long we keep it

Waitlist entries are kept until you ask us to remove them. Account data is kept for as long as the account is open, and for up to twelve months afterwards so it can be restored if the account is reopened.

Your rights

Under the Privacy Act 2020 you can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it. Email rikki@mcy.co.nz and we will respond within 20 working days.

Cookies and analytics

If you use the product, we set a session cookie to keep you signed in. It is necessary for the product to work, and it is not used for advertising.

On this website we use Vercel Web Analytics to count page views. It does not use cookies and does not follow you to other sites. We ask before switching it on, and it stays off unless you accept. You can change your answer at any time using the "Cookie choices" link in the footer of any page.

Changes

If we change this policy we will update the date at the top, and tell account holders by email where the change is significant.
